This old house

(Warning: This post ends with a really bad pun.)

Worked on the site for 5 hours today and yet have nothing substantial to show for it. WPEngine lets me work on a new site without having to take down the old one. So I am under construction without looking like a total mess.

Speaking of construction, we had a shit storm in our house (sorry for the language.) Seriously. I’m not making this up.┬áThere was poo water leaking from the second floor master bathroom all the way down through the butler’s pantry and below to the basement. We have people here tearing out walls, disinfecting anything that came into contact with waste material and assessing property loss.

The entire back half of my house is off limits. That includes my kitchen. ┬áSo we have set up a pseudo kitchen in the dining room. Complete with a mini fridge, it’s kind of like being back in college. Only made more so by the fact that our nightly beer consumption has doubled during this time of despair.

Nothing we can do now but put on a smile and patiently wait for the project to be completed. Oh, well. Shit happens. (You were warned)

This is equal parts terrible & great. It’s fun to hunker-down & live like a college student again, but eating shit sandwiches is where I draw the line.

The hunkering down has been fun but for someone who loves to cook, I want a real kitchen back. Good news is that they might be able to finish before Christmas. Might. We’ll see.
