Detroit Wallpaper Company

I love wallpaper! I often peruse design websites; looking at prints and dreaming of where they may go. So when I first heard of the Detroit Wallpaper Company, it was as if every star aligned — my house NEEDED one of their eco friendly custom prints.

Alas, I had to wait until the grand release of their wallpaper book and official opening of their site. So, I did what came naturally and began stalking the Detroit Wallpaper Company.  I started following their Facebook page and stared longingly as they teased me with status updates and sneak peaks into their look book. >>I was a reeeeeal creeper.<<

Finally, opening day came (not joking, I had it saved to my calendar. >>Again, creeper.<<)  With my office in mind, I was ready to customize my perfect print. Oh but where to start? So many patterns that I loved and so many custom colors to choose from. I realized I needed help and sent them an email via their webpage.

Immediately, I heard back from one of the owners, Josh Young. We set up a meeting and within days he came over for a consultation. He toured my house to get a feel for my personal style. >>My style: I love color and I love pattern. Wallpaper was created for the likes of me<<

Josh was so great to work with. He is kind, creative, a great listener and (like his wall coverings) not too hard on the eyes. He left with the promise of finding me the perfect design for my space and that is exactly what he delivered.

It wasn’t long before my inbox was filled with beautiful and amazing design options from Josh, but one truly stood out from the rest. It was so perfect, even Ryan (typically without an opinion on such matters) loved the choice. We ordered, set up a time to install and viola; I now have the office of my dreams (minus a few other design details, i.e. our very dated ceiling fan)!

Our family is so thrilled with the work done by both the Detroit Wallpaper Company and their installer, Adam Fritts, that we highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Their designs can be bold, like my office, or more classic and subdued. And they are happy to work with clients to help you identify exactly what you want and need.

Our home was their first in Indian Village and I know that one day I will be able to use that as a claim to fame. Having been featured in various national magazines, these guys are going places and I suggest calling soon to get a consultation.

>>Jack wanted in on the post. Here he models how aesthetically pleasing he finds the wallpaper and just how sturdy my ikea desk truly is. Lola likes it too.<<

Thank you to Josh Young, his business partner, Andi Kubacki (who I have never met but feel like he’s a close friend >>creeper<<) and your entire staff.

I love everything about the room, except as you said the fan. I’ve been a creeper before things that I love…not people, well maybe sometimes on my kids. But seriously what a great room and especially great wallpaper!

The downer is we have to have a fan in the room. We don’t have AC and with all the windows my office is a hot box. Wish I could find one I liked. There are a million light fixtures I love but as soon as you throw on some blades…yuck.

Thanks Patricia! Ryan walked in when the room was finished and said “well, there are certainly a lot of patterns.” Wasn’t sure if it was meant as a compliment but it made me happy.

I love the desk and rug, too! May I ask where you got them?

The desk is from Ikea. Just two bookshelves with a butcher block slab on top. We saw it put together in their kitchen section and thought it would be great for a craft table/stand up desk. The rug is from Target online.
